TracFone offers five different
Tracfone Prepaid refill cards. The 60 minute card costs $19.99, the 120 minute
card costs $29.99, the 200 minute card is for $39.99, 450 minutes is for $79.99
(90 days of service) and 400 minutes is for $99.99 (365 days of service). You
may purchase the Double Your Minutes for Life Card for only $49.99 which would
double all minutes on all future purchases. This does not include the One Year +
Double Minutes Card which already has doubled minutes at 800.
Pros and Cons
Remaining minutes can be carried
over to the new refill card that subscribers purchased. Remaining minutes can be
checked from the handset and the overall functions are simple and easy to use.
On the other hand, the minutes are expensive even on higher plans. The 800
minute card costs $139.99 which means per minute charge runs about 17 cents.

The rate per minute varies
depending on the airtime plan you purchase. The rate goes lower as you purchase
a higher plan for TracFone Prepaid.
Data
TracFone Prepaid provides mobile
web, downloading of ringtones and graphics, information services such as news
and weather, and multimedia messaging. One minute of web access is equal to 0.5
minutes of airtime.
Text and picture
The rates for sending and
receiving text messages vary depending on the phone model. It is disclosed on
the TracFone Prepaid package, subscribers can also check the rates on the
website by simply entering the serial number. The rates for picture messaging
vary depending on the actual size of the picture being sent or received. A
picture message is equal to 1.0 unit of airtime plus 0.5 units per minute of the
web data used.
International
International call rates are the
same as your local calls. It’s like calling your neighbor next-door. There are
over 60 international destinations that you can currently call from the handset.

Domestic long distance has the

911 emergency service is

might not go through. Do not depend solely on the phone in emergency situations.
Payment Options
Payments through credit and
debit cards are accepted when purchasing phones or cards via the phone or the
website. Cash, credit/debit cards, and checks are accepted on retail stores.
Roaming charge
When making and receiving calls
outside of the home calling area, roaming charges are 2 units of airtime per
minute.

Minute expiration rules
The service period varies
depending on the card purchased. The 60, 120, 200, 450 minute cards expire after
90 days. The 400 minute card and the 800 One Year + Double Minutes cards expire
in 365 days. If you add an additional card, the remaining service period of that
card will be added to the service period of the new card. The Service End Date
is shown on the card or cash register receipt.
