Kajeet Prepaid is a pay-as-you-go plan targeted for kids and tweens under the guidance and control of their parents.  Based in Maryland, wireless coverage for Kajeet Prepaid is provided by Sprint. With their slogan, “Use it for good”, the company urges parents and kids to work together to use their phones responsibly. Kajeet also offers additional plans for calls and messages.

 

Prepaid Plans

Kajeet Prepaid has it Pay As You Go plan that has an initial fee for 32 cents per day plus additional charges for calls and messages. This plan includes all parental controls, cheaper voice and text rates. For its parental control, it has its TimeManager feature that can designate specific time that the phone can and can’t be used.  Both calls and text messages either incoming or outgoing have flat rates of 10 cents each per minute.

Pros and Cons

Rates in Kajeet Prepaid are cheaper compared to other companies. Features are also basic and simple, just right for the needs of kids from a phone. On the other hand, there are only few phone models that kids have to choose from and their customer support is not available 24/7. They also don’t have other discounted rates for weekend and nights.

Minutes

Per minute rate for Kajeet Prepaid, for both calls made and received, is 10 cents per minute. For additional minutes at lower costs, this plan offers Talk Paks for $4.99 for 10 minutes, $19.99 for 150 minutes and $29.99 for 300 minutes.

Data

Kajeet Prepaid doesn’t provide ample web access.  It only has Google map which doesn’t have any additional fees. For online messenger, it uses AOL messenger for an additional fee of $6.99 per month.

Text and picture

Kajeet Prepaid has the same cost for all messages sent and received. For text messages, it will be for 10 cents while picture messages will cost 25 cents each. For those who need more messages each month, Kajeet Prepaid has an additional plan for messages called the Text Pak. For 200 messages each month, it will cost $4.99; for 1,000 messages per month it will cost $9.99 and for unlimited messages, it will be $19.99. The flat rate of 10 cents per message will apply for additional messages under the Text Pak plan.

 

International

Kajeet Prepaid doesn’t offer international calling. Subscribers have to buy another phone card for international calls and call using their Kajeet phone.

Minutes under the Pay As You Go Plan in Kajeet Prepaid will never expire as long as your Kajeet Wallet has a sufficient balance for calls. For those on Talk Paks, minutes are good for one month.

For customer support, Kajeet Prepaid offers a toll free number, email support and through regular mails. Addresses are available in Kajeet Prepaid website. Their toll free number is not 24/7.  They are available from Monday to Friday, 9am- 10pm, Eastern Time. On Saturdays, 9am to 6pm only.
